Marumo Gallants and Magesi FC Share Spoils in Betway Premiership Clash

Marumo Gallants and Magesi FC played out a 1-1 draw in their latest Betway Premiership encounter at Dr. Molemela Stadium on Sunday. The result keeps both teams searching for momentum in a tightly contested league.
Gallants dominated much of the game, creating more chances, but Magesi took the lead first. Kgomotso Mosadi struck in the 27th minute from a direct free-kick just outside the box, giving the visitors an early advantage.
Marumo Gallants responded quickly. Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, who had started brightly, was forced off with an injury in the 35th minute, replaced by Jaisen Clifford. Clifford made an immediate impact, scoring in the 42nd minute to level the scores with a right-footed finish from the middle of the box. The teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
After the break, Gallants continued to press, with Bheki Mabuza and Ibrahim Bance testing the Magesi defence. Magesi struggled to gain control and spent much of the first hour defending deep. Gallants maintained possession and created the better opportunities, but could not find a winner.
Magesi showed signs of threat late in the game through Edmore Chirambadare and Mosadi, putting Gallants under pressure, particularly after the 75th minute. Despite this, Gallants’ defence held firm, and neither team could convert in the final stages. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Marumo Gallants lineup: Mlambo; Mabotja (James 85’), Sikhosana, Agnikoi, Ncube; Bance (Motloung 61’), Msendami (Mbhele 61’), Nhlapo; Mabuza, Otladisa, Ndlondlo (Clifford 35’, Sithole 85’).

The draw reflects the competitive nature of the Betway Premiership this season. Gallants dominated possession and chances, but Magesi’s disciplined defending and timely scoring ensured they left Bloemfontein with a point. Both teams will look to build on this performance as they prepare for their next fixtures.
