Marumo Gallants Put Dan Malesela on Special Leave & Appoint Dylan Kerr! Bahlabane Ba Ntwa have made changes to their technical team.
Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela has been placed on special leave, alongside his technical team. He has been replaced by Dylan Kerr and a new team.
Bahlabane Ba Ntwa currently occupy the last position on the DSTV Premiership. Their latest result a 2-0 home loss to Orlando Pirates on Saturday night.
“Marumo Gallants F.C has appointed an interim technical team for the club.” A statement read.
“Seasoned football coach Dylan Kerr will fill in an advisory position as a consultant, with Assistant Head Coach Raymond [Xaniseka] Mdaka filling in as interim head coach. Kerr, Mdaka and Sly Mosala (co-coach of the club’s DDC team) will form Gallants’ interim technical management team, with immediate effect.
“The above changes come as current head coach Dan Malesela and technical director Harris Choeu embark on a period of special leave. This break will give Malesela and Choeu the opportunity to recoup energies and observe the team from a distance in order to objectively assess the causes of recent results and develop strategies to improve team performance going forward.
“Malesela remains head coach of Gallants.”
This is somewhat of a weird move as Malesela will watch on from the stands as new people will take charge of his team. The players will also have to take in new information, while their head coach watches from far.
“I believe that Malesela and his team have done their best, however, the results show that its time to reflect and come up with different tactics. Losing games takes its toll mentally, physically, and emotionally. Therefore, this opportunity will allow for the technical team to re-energise and come back with improved strategies. Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of pausing football games during this period, and therefore we have an interim technical team taking the reins for now. I trust my players and I know that they will continue to strive for wins and make myself and our supporters proud.” Sello added.
