Masandawana Postpone Their Miss Mamelodi Sundowns Pageant After Rising Covid-19 Cases! The Brazilians have had to take precautionary measures which were not expected.
Masandawana had intended to host their annual Miss Mamelodi Sundowns this evening. However, they have been forced to postpone their pageant after the dramatic rise in Covid-19 infections in South Africa.
The omicron variant has wreaked havoc across the nation, with new cases reaching 16 000 over the weekend.
“Dear Masandawana Family
Due to the increasing COVID–19 infections, Mamelodi Sundowns has taken the undesirable but responsible decision to postpone the Miss Mamelodi Sundowns 2021 event which was scheduled to take place in Johannesburg on Monday, 6 December 2021.
“This precautionary measure is taken in the light of the alarmingly high rate of infections of the new Omicron strain which is said to be more transmissible.
“Mamelodi Sundowns apologies for any inconvenience caused to the contestants, their families and communities. We would also like to thank all other stakeholders, including the organisers, our supporters, sponsors, and partners for their understanding in agreeing to the postponement.
“The details of the next event will be communicated once all the stakeholders have met to find the way forward that will ensure the safety of everyone involved with the event. The organizers of Miss Mamelodi Sundowns will continue to engage with the contestants to assist them in making a difference in their communities.
“As a club that is rooted in the communities that we operate in, we take the health and wellbeing of our supporters seriously and we encourage everyone to continue observing the COVID-19 protocols.” The club confirmed in a statement.
It is very possible that the awards could be held in 2022. Masandawana Postpone Their Miss Mamelodi Sundowns Pageant After Rising Covid-19 Cases!
