Baroka FC lost 2-1 at home to Orlando Pirates in the DSTV Premiership yesterday. Head coach Matsimela Thoka insists that they did not deserve to lose the tightly contested game.

This defeat severely hampers their chances of finishing in the top 8 this season. They are three points away from 8th placed TS Galaxy with one game left to play.

The Rockets play Kaizer Chiefs in the battle for 8th on Saturday. Bakgakga’s chances of making the MTN 8 next season are almost non-existent.

Denwin Farmer gave Baroka the lead in the first half. The lead was cancelled by a Gabadinho Mhango free kick on the brink of half-time and Terrence Dzvukamanja’s second-half winner.

“You can say it again, smash and grab.” The Baroka boss told SuperSport TV after the game.

“It’s just we ball watched and a lack of concentration again, so both sides you can say that it was a game of two halves and we played well. It’s just that a little bit of lack of concentration again.”

“We played against a good and experienced team, with good players. But the way the boys played, we looked like we could get something and when we watched the time with four minutes to go we needed to control the game well.

“We needed to concentrate and not ball-watching. If you can see the second goal, they played the short-corner so it’s just that we need to pass the matches very well and concentrate and make sure that you mark tight.

“Unfortunately they managed to score because they wanted it most, they wanted it most those guys,” he added. Matsimela Thoka Labels Orlando Pirates Defeat as ‘Smash & Grab’!
