Mazembe frustrate Supersport.
Supersport United and TP Mazembe played to a goalless draw in their Group D 2017 CAF Confederations Cup Clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Goal-scoring chances were very minimal in was a dull clash that did not live up to expectations. Mazembe were more than happy to sit deep within their own half. The result leaves Horaya top of the standings following their 1-0 win over Mounana in Guinea, with Supersport and Mazembe tied on six points apiece after four rounds of fixtures.
The best chance of the game fell to Thabo Mnyamane in the 51st minute, but he was unable to see his shot on target after a brilliant cross from Aubrey Modiba. Supersport dominated the majority of the game but were however left frustrated by a stubborn Mazembe.
Matsatsantsa now turn their focus to the Nedbank Cup Final against Orlando Pirates in what is Stuart Baxter’s last game as head coach.
