Sergio Almenara Says Kaizer Chiefs Defeat Was Unfair! The Buccaneers lost out to Amakhosi once again.

Orlando Pirates lost 1-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in the DSTV Premiership on Saturday afternoon. Assistant coach Sergio Almenara was unhappy with the manner of the loss.

Olisa Ndah scored an own goal in the 88^th minute to all but seal victory for Amakhosi. Pirates skipper Innocent Maela received a red card in the second half for a professional foul on Christian Saile Basomboli.

“Well, we think that in the first half they were better than us. We had some adjustments in our defensive [line] and they were taking advantage of that.” Almenara told SuperSport TV.

“We used the halftime to adjust this, we came to the second half, and we were better than them in our opinion and then in the worst moment we got a red card. We have to analyse what happened to have this action [of] one against one running towards our own goal, we will see tomorrow when we analyse the game.

The Spaniard was asked to clarify whether he thought the red card to Maela was legitimate or not.

“I mean the origin, why we had this action of one against one, I’m not saying it’s not a red card, I’m saying we have to analyse why it happed in its origin.

“Why we lost the ball, why we didn’t press after losing the ball, etcetera, etcetera.

“I think it was one half for Chiefs, second half we were better than them. We readjusted, we were better, we were creating.

“They didn’t create in the second half, the goal was an own goal, they didn’t have anything, so yeah, a bit unfair honestly.”
