Ntsako Makhubela has re-joined Golden Arrows on loan from Orlando Pirates. This transfer has been long reported due to his lack of game time.

The attacking midfielder joined The Buccaneers from Golden Arrows at the beginning of the last season. He played a lot last season under the stewardship of Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids.

However, this season he has found playing time extremely hard to come by. This is after Orlando Pirates fired Davids, demoted Ncikazi and hired José Riveiro in a sole coaching role.

The Spaniard has not taken to Makhubela, basically deeming his surplus to requirements. As a consequence, rumours started building that Arrows would be open to the idea of bringing back Makhubela.

But this transfer was always likely to be a loan, as Abafana Bes’thende would not have the funds to pay for his transfer fee. This would also work for Makhubela, as he will likely try to prove his worth at his previous club, so that when the loan ends, he can have won over Riveiro and co.

The Lamontville club also saw the return of Divine Lunga at the beginning of the season, on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns. The Zimbabwean also left Abafana Bes’thende at the beginning of last season.

The duration of the loan has not been disclosed, but it is likely to be a 6-month loan, until the end of the current season. Makhubela himself has not yet commented on the transfer.

“New Signing. We welcome back Ntsako Neverdie Makhubela on loan from Orlando Pirates.” The club announced on their social media.
