Mesut Ozil Offers To Save Arsenal Legend Gunnersaurus! Arsenal’s legendary mascot, Gunnersaurus has been made redundant by the football club. This comes as Arsenal is employing cost cutting measures. Arsenal, like most football clubs, have also been financially affected by covid-19.
Controversially, Arsenal announced plans to let go of Jerry Quy, the man inside the costume, a day after spending a reported 45M pounds (R963 170 100) on Thomas Partey. The Ghanaian is reportedly set to earn 230K pounds per week (R4 922 241.29) per week. Partey also received a very warm 2M pound signing on fee (R42 835 800).
Jerry Quy, as Gunnersaurus, has been an Arsenal mascot for the past 27 years. He’s also been employed in various roles at the football club. He’s seen the best and worst of Arsenal in his time at Highbury Stadium and at The Emirates Stadium.

Mesut Ozil has offered to keep Jerry Quy in his job. The German World Cup winner has offered to pay all of Jerry Quy’s salary for as long as he is an Arsenal player.
“I was so sad that Jerry Quy aka our famous and loyal mascot … and integral part of our club was made redundant after 27 years,” Ozil said on twitter. “As such, I’m offering to reimburse Arsenal with the full salary of our big green guy as long as I will be an Arsenal player so Jerry can continue his job that he loves so much.”
