Michael Owen Visits SuperSport United Training Ground! The English legend was taken to Matsatsantsa yesterday.

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup underway, PSL teams are currently on break, working on themselves. Ballon d’Or winner Michael Owen visited the training ground of SuperSport United.

Owen, who is currently in South Africa covering the 2022 FIFA World Cup on behalf of SuperSport TV, took the time to visit the football club owned by the channel. He was greeted with warm hugs and smiles by the Matsatsantsa representatives.

The former striker also got the chance to spend time with strikers Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza, probably discussing striker’s politics.

Owen himself was a prolific striker and a FIFA World Cup legend. He burst onto the international scene as an 18-year-old at the 1998 FIFA World Cup for England. The striker also made his mark at the 2002 FIFA World Cup for the Three Lions.

His performances earned him the Ballon d’Or award in 2001. He also joined Real Madrid from Liverpool in 2004.

The SuperSport United players will have learnt a lot from such an esteemed former player. In particular the strikers, who will have surely asked and learnt a thing or two from one of England’s greatest ever finishers.
