Miguel Timm Unveiled by NFD Club Ahead of Season Restart

Former Sekhukhune United and Orlando Pirates midfielder Miguel Timm has secured a new home in the National First Division. The experienced campaigner has been unveiled as the latest signing by Cape Town City ahead of the second half of the season.
The coastal club confirmed the move on Monday morning through its official platforms. City announced that Timm will bolster their midfield options as they push for promotion in the latter stages of the campaign.
Timm joins the club as a free agent. The 33 year old parted ways with Orlando Pirates at the end of the 2024 to 2025 season, bringing an end to a three year spell at the Soweto giants. He later signed for Sekhukhune United but his stay was short lived and lasted just five months.
Despite the brief nature of his recent stints, Timm remains one of the most reliable midfielders in local football. He is known for his tactical discipline, ball recovery and ability to control the tempo of matches. His experience in high pressure environments is expected to add immediate value to City’s squad.
At Cape Town City, Timm links up with a midfield group that already includes Njabulo Ngcobo, Keagan Dolly and promising youngster Emile Witbooi. His arrival is expected to provide balance and leadership in the middle of the park as the club targets consistency in the second half of the season.
City have also been active in the transfer market. Just days before announcing Timm, the club confirmed the signing of former TS Galaxy striker Dzenan Zajmovic. The additions signal clear intent as the team looks to strengthen key areas.
Cape Town City currently sit fourth on the Motsepe Foundation Championship log. They have collected 22 points from 14 matches, recording six wins so far. The side is three points behind second placed Casric Stars and five points adrift of leaders Milford.
With the league tightly contested, Timm’s arrival could prove decisive. His experience and composure may play a key role as City aim to close the gap at the top and mount a serious promotion challenge in the months ahead.
