Mntambo Pens An Emotional Farewell Message For Buccaneers

Linda Mntambo who recently left Orlando Pirates as he joined Sekhukhune United after the completion of the past DStv Premiership season has written an emotional farewell message for the Buccaneers club as a whole.

This past week, Mntambo was announced as a departure alongside Ntsikelelo Nyauza who’s still a free agent. As for Mntambo, he has been surrounded by the speculations of a move away from the club since 2020. He has also been struggling somewhat to cement his place in the Buccaneers’ midfield that is packed with so much quality.

With Babina Noko having relocated from Gauteng to Limpopo ahead of the upcoming campaign, Mntambo will also have to move away from home to start a new life in another province. He took to his Instagram account to thank Ezimnyama Ngenkani for the stay he had at the club.

To: The club chairman, club officials, office staff, support staff, teammates (now former) I would like to take this moment to greet you all. With a heavy heart, it saddens me that I have to part ways with the club that I grew up supporting, a club that is not only dear to my heart but my family as well. As I look back, I can only reflect on the wonderful memories made and I will forever cherish them. The family environment at the club, the friendships and brotherhood created between myself and my then teammates mean a lot to me, and I hope this does not get thrown away because of my departure. As I head to Sekhukhune United, I will carry with me the teachings of humility, oneness, team spirit and everything that I learned while at the club as I continue to shape myself to being the best athlete on and off the field. I am happy to have received your blessings as we part ways. I trust that those remaining at the club will carry the club’s badge with pride and joy as I will also do so at my new home. Thank you for the support and for the wonderful memories. This is not goodbye as we will meet not as teammates but as opponents.

Yours truly

Once and Always

Linda Mntambo

Mntambo, who joined the Club in 2018 having had spells at Jomo Cosmos and Chippa United, went on to register 71 appearances for the Buccaneers in all competitions, scoring 8 times and recording 6 assists.
