Mohammed Anas Happy To Be Given a Chance to Play! The Ghanaian was the key figure in Black Leopards’ 2-1 win over Golden Arrows last night.

The attacker scored an impressive brace in the victory. The second goal a last minute stunner from way outside the box.

This was an unexpected victory. Black Leopards had not won a single match away from home in the league before yesterday’s match.

On the other hand, Golden Arrows had not lost a home match at all before last night.

“I think ya, I’ve been pushing a lot throughout the season. So, first of all I have to thank my wife and my children. They keep on pushing me. [Whether] I’m playing or not playing. They keep on saying ‘no, don’t worry, your chance will come’. So, I think this is the chance.” Anas told SuperSport TV.

This was a performance which saw Anas rewarded with the prestigious Man of the Match Award.

“First of well I will say, I was not playing and the coaches were keeping me on. They keep on pushing me. They said, ‘no, don’t worry, your chance will come’. But I think the changes they made helped us a lot in getting the three points.”

Lehlohonolo Seema, caretaker coach, had said that his players must not play for three points. They must play for oxygen!

“The energy has been there [in previous games], it is just that we have been letting ourselves down. I felt today we could have kept a clean-sheet, but once again we conceded a soft-goal from a back heel,” Seema said.

“But we will take these three points, it will go a long way, the players have been working hard and they can now taste victory. A lot of teams have come here and not taken any points, so I am happy for the players.

“The signs have been coming, but today we managed to do what we did not do against Baroka, which is score goals,” he added.

“Coach Papic has come in and we have worked nicely with him, I am always next to him at training and we are talking about what needs to be done. Today we did not change anything, but once his papers are there then he will be the coach, and he will lead me and [assistant] coach Morgan [Shivambu].

“We will take one game at a time, it [the win] has been long overdue, we have great spirit here, the dressing room is vibey. We were playing against a tough team, a team that is good. Nobody thought we would get the three points.”
