MTN 8 Preview as Semi Finals Start This Weekend! The 8-team knockout begins on Saturday with the Soweto Derby. The Sunday fixture will see SuperSport take on Bloemfontein Celtic.
Saturday (31 October) will see the first Soweto Derby of the season. Orlando Pirates host Kaizer Chiefs at the Orlando Stadium.
Orlando Pirates defeated Cape Town City 1-0 in the quarter final. They have since suffered indifferent results in the DSTV Premiership.
The Buccaneers have drawn both their opening games of the new season. They dropped points against AmaZulu and Stellenbosch.
Kaizer Chiefs came back from one goal down to defeat Maritzburg United 2-1 at the FNB Stadium. Amakhosi have also since suffered indifferent result in the league.
Amakhosi comfortably lost 3-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns. They won their first points of the season midweek by defeating Chippa United 1-0.
The second semi final sees SuperSport United host Bloemfontein Celtic in Pretoria.
SuperSport United defeated Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 3-2 in the quarter finals in Thoyandou. They have also had an indifferent start to the current league campaign.
Matsatsatsa won their opening game 2-0 to Black Leopards. They lost their second game away to Golden Arrows 3-1 in midweek.
Bloemfontein Celtic made it to the semi-final by beating favourites Mamelodi Sundowns. They have had quite a poor start to the league campaign.
Siwelele have lost and drawn in their opening two matches against Golden Arrows and Moroka Swallows, respectively.
