Napoli Claim First Leg Advantage in The UEFA Champions League! The Italians continued to show their impressive form once more.

Napoli defeated Frankfurt 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League last night. They are now firm favourites to make it to the last 8 of the tournament.

By scoring these two goals the Italians ramped up their tally to 22 in this season’s competition, making them the highest scorers. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen continued his remarkable campaign, opening the scoring from close range in the first half.

Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo doubled their advantage in the second half.

“We are happy about this win, at a difficult ground against a strong side.” Di Lorenzo told Sky Sport after the win.

“We should have scored more. They started off well, then with time we grew into this game with our possession.

“We knew how important this was, and we had the right focus.” He added.

Napoli have also done extremely well in Serie A, where they have built a monumental lead at the summit of the table.

“I feel sorry for the fans that we couldn’t perform better tonight. It was tough, they are one of the best sides in Europe at the moment; so full of confidence, they rarely ever lose.

“To get more out of the return game, we must stay calm – especially when we are on the ball. We gave it away too easily at times tonight.” Frankfurt striker Jesper Lindstrom told UEFA.
