Ndumiso Mabena in Demand
Former Orlando Pirates and now Platinum Stars striker, Ndumiso Mabena is in demand from PSL top teams. The 29 year old signed a three year contract in 2014 when he left Pirates. His contract at Platinum Stars is ending this season and already the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Supersport United and Cape Town City are interested in Mabena’s services.
At the Platinum Stars Awards for the PSL 2015/16 season awards, Mabena was the player of season, players player of the season and star of the season. He had a great run in the PSL with Platinum Stars and the club finished in the top half of the table end of the season. Kaizer Chiefs have been monitoring Mabena and Stars and Chiefs have had great deals last season such as the signing of Siphelele Mthembu and loaning Enocent Mkhabela to Stars.
Talks between Mabena and Dikwena have not began and this is encouraging other teams to make moves on the player. Mabena has punished his former side Orlando Pirates this season and last season and has been in great form and off the injury list. Mabena’s consistent performance has contributed in Stars qualifying for CAF Confederations Cup, which they are participating in this year. Mabena has had national team calls under Shakes Mashaba.
