Now open: The Springbok Experience – 25 Years of Champions
“The Springbok Experience – 25 Years of Champions”, a travelling activation that will be touring through various regions of South Africa for the next year, has opened its doors at Canal Walk in Cape Town.
The Experience features trophies, displays, artefacts, video footage and interactive activities focusing on the Springboks’ three RWC victories, in 1995, 2007 and 2019.
Visitors will be able to learn more about the three winning teams and get up close and personal with special artefacts and trophies.
Additional features include an Augmented Reality mirror where visitors can take pictures with some of their Springbok rugby heroes, and a hand off challenge.
Some of the interesting artefacts on display include a statue of Nelson Mandela and Francois Pienaar, RWC jerseys and medals, some of the artefacts from the Springbok Experience Rugby Museum, which closed down last year, and the Currie Cup trophy.
Also included are historical items such as artefacts from the first tour by the British Isles team in 1891 and the history of the Currie Cup.
The experience is a must see for all Springbok supporters and those who have an interest in the sport of rugby.
The 250sqm Springbok Experience can be found at Shop 69 of the Canal Walk Shopping Centre in Century City. It’s open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10h00 until 18h00.
Tickets are available from Computicket at R70 for adults and R50 for children aged 18 and under (children aged 3 and under can enter free with an adult), while a Family Pack costs R200 (two adult and two child tickets).
