Ntando Nkosi Settling In at AmaTuks, Coach Kopo Highlights Areas for Improvement

Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Ntando Nkosi is adjusting well at University of Pretoria, but coach Kwanele Kopo has identified areas for the player to develop.

Nkosi left Sundowns during the last transfer window to join AmaTuks in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, following his inclusion in South Africa’s squad at CHAN (African Nations Championship). Since joining, Nkosi has made two appearances after not featuring competitively for Sundowns.

“Fitness wise, he is okay. He is young and he has got potential. We must not rave too much about him, but we must work him. We have spoken and he knows the areas he needs to develop. We are still working to develop him physically, but he is a young player who can blossom over time with the right mentality,” Kopo told the Siya crew.

AmaTuks also signed former AmaZulu goalkeeper Veli Mothwa during the transfer window. Mothwa, who was part of Bafana Bafana’s Africa Cup of Nations squad in Ivory Coast last year, has not yet made an appearance for the club due to a pre-season injury. Coach Kopo revealed the goalkeeper is close to returning to action.

“He started training, so hopefully we will have him back by the end of October. We are working on him. With Veli coming back, it will only strengthen the goalkeeping department which has shown a lot of improvement,” Kopo said.

Nkosi’s move to AmaTuks offers him a chance to gain regular game time and continue his development. With Kopo’s guidance, the midfielder is expected to grow physically and tactically, contributing significantly to the team’s Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign.

The return of Mothwa will further bolster the squad, giving AmaTuks added stability between the posts as they aim for strong performances in the season ahead.
