Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Nyasha Mushekwi bought a R1.8 million bus for his former Zimbabwean club from his base in China and the bus took a detour in South Africa to get branded in the Caps United FC team colours.
The lethal forward who like wine has improved with age retired from international duty and currently plays for Zhejiang Greentown FC.
He recently reached an impressive milestone of 100 goals scored abroad since leaving CAPS United for Sundowns before playing in Sweden, Belgium and China.
Mushekwi fared very well for Mamelodi Sundowns netting a credible 30 goals in 92 appearances across all competitions .
He bought the luxury air conditioned bus to show CAPS United massive appreciation for the role they played in being the launch pad for his professional football career 10 years ago.
Mushekwi (32) gave details with regards to his thank you gift before it finally gets delivered to his former club in what could be an early Christmas present as the club currently top the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League standings by 2 points with 5 games to go.
“It will be a stopover in South Africa, during its shipment home, for 10 days to get branded, that’s where the guys who wrap my cars are, they are really good guys. We settled for the white colour to try and match one of the colours associated with the team.
“Of course there will be some touches of green, and all this will be done in South Africa, but the most important thing right now is that the assembling of the bus, as per our specifications, has now been completed.” said Mushekwi when quizzed to give updates on the donation.
