On-Loan Striker Jeremy Brockie Barred From Telkom Knockout Final
On-loan striker Maritzburg United Jeremy Brockie will not play against parent club Mamelodi Sundowns in the Telkom Knockout Final at Moses Mabhidha Stadium on Saturday, Maritzburg United chief executive Younus Kadodia confirmed.
The two teams signed an agreement that prohibits Brockie from playing against Sundowns while on loan at United hence he is not eligible to play against his mother side at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban because of the terms of his loan agreement.
“He can’t play in the final. All parties knew beforehand the terms of the agreement with which we took him on loan. And of course nothing changes when you get to a final against Sundowns. So there is nothing that we have to regret about it.” Kadodia said.
Brockie moved to the Team of Choice on a season-long loan deal from Sundowns at the start of the season and is yet to score since moving on loan, starting six matches and appearing in another two from the bench.
