Orlando Pirates Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou Reviews New Signings Msendami and Chabatsane

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has shared his assessment of the club’s latest January signings, Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane. Both players joined Pirates from the first PSL club Ouaddou coached, forming part of a trio of new arrivals alongside Andre de Jong. The duo have been training with the squad for just over two weeks but have yet to make first-team appearances, though signs indicate they could feature soon.

Chabatsane was included on the substitutes’ bench during Pirates’ goalless draw against Sekhukhune United last Saturday. The inclusion suggests he could make his debut imminently, stepping in as a replacement for Mbekezeli Mbokazi. Ouaddou highlighted the players’ qualities during his post-match press conference at Peter Mokaba Stadium. He praised Msendami for his speed, ability to win one-on-one duels, and capacity to contribute both defensively and offensively along the flanks.

On Chabatsane, Ouaddou emphasized his technical ability, particularly his precision with the left foot. He noted that the young player will provide additional options and creativity once he gets match time. The coach’s remarks underline his confidence in the new signings and their potential impact on the squad’s depth and versatility. Both players are being groomed to integrate into the first team seamlessly.

Pirates currently sit second in the Betway Premiership standings with 29 points from 13 matches, three points behind Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played two more games. The Soweto giants face relegation-threatened Magesi FC at the Orlando Amstel Arena on Saturday, presenting an opportunity for Msendami and Chabatsane to make their debuts. Their inclusion could strengthen the squad as Pirates continue their push for the league title.
