Orlando Pirates Football Club have decide to invest in an educational programme that is aimed at improving the overall quality of education.
The club just recently launched a programme called Pearson’s SuccessMaker to 60 students and their teachers from neighboring schools offered by the centre.
Pearson’s SuccessMaker has improved the education in England and the United States for over 40 years and now with Pirates Corporate Social Programme, South African learners have been given the opportunity to use the software for the first time in South Africa.
“Together with Microsoftware, Acer and Pearson’s SuccessMarker, Pirates has the pleasure to introduce the brillaint plan and encourage all their learners to register at The Centre this term”, said Jude Capel, the centre’s manager. “It is also a great opportunity for the leaners to improve their english and maths”, she added.
Since 2012, the learning centre has improved the education level of more than 2500 children from Soweto.
