Premiership giants Orlando Pirates continued to make steady progress at the weekend with the Bucaneers securing a 1 nil victory over University of Pretoria on Saturday.

The Soweto giants have had a difficult season but Eric Tinkler would have been delighted to see his team enter into the top 8 after spending the better part of season the bottom 8.

A 70th minute strike by Thabo Matlaba was enough to bag maximum points, in the process steering the Soweto giants into the top 8.
