Orlando Pirates Victory Means a Lot to Brandon Truter and Swallows FC! The Dube Birds qualified for the last 4 of the MTN 8 on Saturday night.

Swallows FC defeated Orlando Pirates 2-1 at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday night. Head coach Brandon Truter is extremely happy with the result attained.

The Dube Birds will play in the semi-finals of the MTN 8 against Cape Town City. This is courtesy of their quarterfinal win against The Buccaneers.

Ruzaigh Gamaldien scored both goals in a 2-1 win. Dlamini scored the only Pirates goal.

Before the game, Truter said that they will approach the game with absolutely no fear of their opposition.

“For us it was about the match,” the coach said to the media after their win.

“It was about gauging. It’s the first time in a while that Swallows has been here.

“Pirates are the holders. I think from the top teams it’s only us and Sundowns that haven’t won this competition.

“This result means a lot to us. But also, it impacts on the load we had today.

“It was a massive shift from Motlau, Cheeseboy as well. That effects because now we have to look to the next match and how to get them fit because the recovery and regeneration now becomes so important.

“Well done to the guys. It was a big shift and to come here to Orlando and actually come away with the result.

“Some of the aspects in the team, the DNA, some things are non-negotiable. The boys showed their resilience in the second half when Pirates came at us.

“We didn’t give much away so that shows as well the character.

“I didn’t see the penalty. There was a lot of traffic in front of us.

“Even the offside goal I will give it to them.

“Ja, we don’t like conceding goals. Even in training.

“I think it was a soft penalty. The ball changed direction.
