Ovono Eyes A Move Overseas
Equatorial Guinea 23-year-old Felipe Ovono joined Pirates at the beginning of last season after being spotted at the 2015 AFCON finals played in his home country. Ovono parted ways with Pirates in January this year after he failed to cement his spot in the starting 11 and this contributed towards his departure from The Bucs.
Over the last month, Ovono has been training with NFD side, Amatuks to keep fit. Ovono is a free agent and is not affected by window period and has been eyeing a move overseas. However, last week Amatuks coach, Shaun Bartlett, confirmed that Ovono has stopped training with Amatuks. Ovono is currently training alone and working on an overseas move.
He has been linked with moves to Turkey and Saudi Arabia so far and is said to have yet another opportunity abroad that he is set to explore this month. The Equitorial Guinea shot stopper still has a career and fuel on the tank and he is working on getting his gloves back on and making it to the pitch. His representatives have been working endlessly to get Ovono back on his feet.
