Hugo Broos Says Some Players Won’t Be Called Up Again! The national team claimed a narrow win last night.
Bafana Bafana defeated Botswana 1-0 in an international friendly last night. Head coach Hugo Broos was extremely disappointed in the performance he witnessed.
Teboho Mokoena scored the only goal of the match, in what is now a trademark free kick. The hosts struggled to create many more opportunities after that.
“I’m very happy about the results,” Broos said to SABC Sport.
“We’ve won twice now, and this is good for our confidence. On the other side I can’t be happy with the performance, its true.
“The performance was much less than Saturday. I said before the game that its up to the guys to prove if they have the mentality or the quality to be with Bafana Bafana.
“We shall evaluate the two games and we will see what we will do.” He spoke.
Broos was asked about the insight he gained from the two friendly matches which have just passed.
“It’s certainly gave me a good vision of what we have. It was the plan at the beginning of the camp to make two teams and make them play the whole game, for as much as possible.
“So, we did it and we had a good game on Saturday, and we had a game that was not so good today. So that was important for me to see what I have and certainly for the future, what I can use.”
The Belgian stressed that there are players who will not be called up for internationals in November.
“The most important thing is the good performance from Saturday, that’s for sure. This is something we have to go on with, and we have the players to do that.
“Therefore, the game today was very important to prove that if the players who played, can play what we want and how we have to play. Again, we will see how, with the staff, what we have to do in the future.
“For sure, there are some players who disappointed today and it’s impossible that they will be with us again in November.”
He refused to name these players though.
“No, this is between me and the staff.” He concluded.
