Peter Petersen Happy With His MDC Team’s Progress! Maritzburg United’s reserve team won their second consecutive match last weekend.

The Team of Choice thumped the Golden Arrows reserves 5-3 at the Sugar Ray Stadium in Kwa-Zulu Natal. The previous weekend they ousted Chippa United 4-2.

They are proving to be a high scoring team in the opening weeks of the DSTV Diski Challenge. Although Peter Petersen is happy with the victory, his team’s defending is a cause for concern for him.

“It’s a good confidence booster for the team, I think they worked hard in the last two games,” Petersen told the media after the game

“Yes, we scored some goals, but we also conceded. Which is an area I feel we really need to work on.

“It comes down more to individual errors, but it’s something definitely that we’ll fix.” He adds on.

Star man Asanda Buthelezi scored a hattrick over Golden Arrows. This adds to the brace he notched over Chippa United in the previous game.

He now has 5 goals in 2 matches.

“We’ve got a good group of young boys who are eager to learn and improve, and then the sky is the limit, they’ve really come to the party. And they really push one another, hard in training and in matches.

“We will take into consideration the PSL fixtures as well,” Petersen explained.

“So a lot of guidance will come from the head coach depending on who he has available for us. We’ll take it one game at a time.” He concluded.
