Peter Shalulile is the current PSL Players’ Player of The Year and PSL Footballer of the year. The striker has highlighted hard work as the key factor in his successes.
He joined Mamelodi Sundowns from the now defunct Highlands Park in 2020 as the joint league top goal scorer, alongside Gabadinho Mhango from Orlando Pirates. They both had 16 goals at the end of the 2019/2020 season.
Since joining the Brazilians, Shalulile has been an ever-present in their squad. He continues to score goals at will.
He currently holds the joint record for most league goals scored in a calendar year, which is the 24 goals he scored in 2021.
“It’s just about the work you put in and the extra work on top of that. At the time when people are sleeping, you just have to put in the work.” Shalulile told the Mamelodi Sundowns media department.
“What keeps me going is simply the fact that I just want the club and my teammates to be happy and for the club to do well. I also get my motivation from players abroad that are also doing well, that helps me to push every day to stay at this level.
“It’s not easy scoring but we work so hard to make sure we are able to score each and every day.” The striker lamented.
