PICS! AmaZulu FC President Sandile Zungu Ties The Knot
PICS! AmaZulu FC President Sandile Zungu Ties The Knot. This past weekend saw AmaZulu FC president Sandile Zungu tying the knot in a lavish wedding in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The wife’s name is Nozipho Magubane who was warmly welcomed by the Zungu family.
This is the second time that Zungu has gotten married after he reportedly lost his wife Zodwa who died of cancer in 2016. Together they have three sons and one daughter. The businessman’s wedding was attended by politicians and businesspeople. CAF president Dr. Patrice Motsepe was a significant attendee.
According to Sunday World’s source, Zungu had not been in a rush to commit himself to another marriage after he lost his first wife. “He was deeply hurt, but since meeting Nozipho he has found closure. Zodwa would have wanted him to get married because he was lonely for too long,” the source said.
WHAT DOES ZUNGU DO FOR A LIVING?
Zungu started being the owner of Usuthu after he bought the club from the previous owner Dr. Patrick Sokhela. He has taken the club to another level and with his blueprint to becoming one of the biggest teams on the continent, it seems like the KZN-based team will flourish more.
Apart from football, Zungu is the owner of Zungu Investment Company (ZICO). Zungu is said to be close with politics, especially in the KZN province. Recently, it has been reported that he joined the race for the KZN leadership in KZN. In an interview with Newzroom Afrika, Zungu said the branches requested him to join the race as they want someone to lead ANC in the right direction.
“The branches have asked me to make myself available to work with the collective of leaders who will steer the ANC in the correct direction so that once again, it can be in charge of provincial state power,” Zungu explained.
“I believe that the renewal of the ANC cannot be complete unless KZN is adequately represented in the leadership echelons. The current state of affairs in the province make it further vulnerable to isolation and marginalisation like it happened in Nasrec in 2017 when they went to the conference divided.
“Someone has to do something about the issues facing KZN, especially youth unemployment. If the ANC is the leader of society, I am propagating for a campaign-driven ANC. 2024 is not far and by the time I appeal to the electorate, it must have found the party interested in solving many societal issues.”
