PICS! DSTV Ekasi Champ Of Champs Pits Thomas Mlambo And Teko Modise On The Field

DStv have just launched a tournament called DStv eKasi Champ of Champs where 8 kasi teams will be battling for R250 000 and the draw and launch have been made.

Beke Le Beke Fc, La Masia Fc, Chego 17 Fc, Ambassadors Fc, Free Agents Fc Chipolopolo Fc, A.T Mambas Fc, Vaal Monate Fc are the eight teams that will be in the tournament.

While the tournament will kick off on 16 June, its promotion is continuing as we recently saw the likes of Thomas Mlambo and Teko Modise going head to head on the field.

Mlambo heaped praise on himself when he posted pictures of the action on the field.

“Just from the focus you can see Diski is in me. Which is why from 16 June, I’ll be watching 8 teams the best of the kasi. R250k and bragging rights to play for. DStv Champ of Champs. SuperSport will show the games,” Mlambo wrote on his Istagram account.

Statement from SuperSport:

The DStv Ekasi Champ of Champs Tournament pits Gauteng’s finest kasi teams against each other from 16 June till 4 July 2022, in Soweto.

The eight teams were drawn in two groups at a popular hang-out spot in Soweto (Konka) last Wednesday night.

The first round will take place at the Kwa Mahlobo grounds in Meadowlands. The matches will then move on to Moletsane Sports Grounds, and the final will be played at the Dobsonville Football Stadium.

The games should bring about lots of excitement, with an expected crowd of about 5 000 people daily.

A lot is expected from crowd favourites like Skwarma, Professor, and Wacko Jacko.

Some of the players, who currently ply their trade in the GladAfrica Tournament, have been recruited from teams from various townships across the Gauteng province.

The winners of the tournament will walk away with R250 000, while there is also a plate prize of R75 000.
