CHIEFS NEWCOMER WANT FANS TO SMILE AGAIN!
Zitha Kwinika understands what Chiefs fans have been going through these the past years with the club failing to win a silverware since 2016. In fact, As a former Academy graduate of the Club, he was in fact part of Amakhosi’s squad that last won the Premier Soccer League title back in 2015.
Having been sent out to hone his skills in the topflight, Kwinika is back at Naturena and ready to put the experience he has gained to good use.
“I’m a God-fearing man, I believe everything happens at the right time. When I left the team, the instruction was to ‘go somewhere and get experience, so you can grow as a player’. For me to be able to get the opportunity to come back means the team has seen my growth. It was based on me going to Stellenbosch, leading the team and being named Player of the Season,” Kwinika told www.kaizerchiefs.com during the first team’s training camp.
“The move back to Chiefs came about as a result of my hard work from the previous season. It was on the cards and the team recognised it was time for me to come back again. I’m in a good state and ready to represent the team again,” the strapping centre-back added.

The 28-year-old Kwinika was outstanding for Stellenbosch FC last season, establishing himself as one of the league’s best players and he is looking forward to his new journey back ‘home’ at Naturena.
“It’s going to be a great season. It’s not only about me, but about the group at large. Everyone in the team knows the pressure there is to come to rectify what has happened at the Club. It’s high time now for the Chiefs faithful to have a smile on their face. It won’t be an easy journey, it’s important that everyone comes together as a group. If we do it as a team, there’s so much potential, so much quality in this group that I don’t see anything or anyone that can stop us. It’s a case of getting together and making the Khosi faithful happy again,” says Kwinika.
