Kaizer Chiefs play against Stellenbosch FC in the MTN 8 on Sunday afternoon. Head coach Arthur Zwane has insisted that they must do things the right way, not the quick way.

Amakhosi last tasted trophy success back in 2015, under Stuart Baxter when they won the ABSA Premiership title. Since then, it has been a barren and trophyless run for the Glamour Boys.

This has seen a succession of coaches come and ultimately fail to bring any success to the club. This includes the likes of Steve Komphela, Giovanni Solinas, Ernst Middendorp, Gavin Hunt, Stuart Baxter and now Arthur Zwane.

“As much as we want to win to win silverware as a club, and we know that it is very, very key for us to be among the best,” Zwane spoke ahead of the weekend’s match-up.

“If we are to take shortcuts because we are only thinking about winning now, that might take us in the wrong direction.

“Yes, we want to win the cup, but we need to win the cup the way we want to play. It must be sustainable as well because we are thinking about the future of this club.

“Not just to go and win the cup and then if we look at ourselves, and we are struggling.

“We need to get things going and do things in the right way, and so far, so good. We are on the right track.

“It’s not bad at all, it’s just that results aren’t coming the way we would love them to…”

The club will be monitoring the fitness of Ashley Du Preez ahead of the match. Arthur Zwane Does Not Want to Take Any Shortcuts with Kaizer Chiefs Process!
