Pirates legend: Helman Mkhalele

Top players have in the past come through Orlando Pirates, a team which is arguably the biggest club in South Africa. One such player is Helman Mkhalele who began his career at Jomo Cosmos before spending four seasons at Orlando Pirates.

After impressing at the Bucaneers, Mkhalele then captured the attention of European sides. The speedy winger would then settle for Turkey where he turned out for Kayserispor.

Mkhalele was also a key player for Bafana Bafana. The elusive winger was part of the 1996 squad which won the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.
