Pitso Dladla Claims Uthongathi Will Expose Pirates’ Weaknesses! Orlando Pirates host NFD side Uthongathi FC in the Nedbank Cup this afternoon.
For Pirates, the game comes in the wake of their disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Golden Arrows on Tuesday. They will be hoping to use the fixture as a catalyst for better days.
However, Uthongathi coach Pitso Dladla says that after carefully analysing the Buccaneers, they have exposed some weaknesses with their squad.
“Orlando Pirates is a very good team from all departments but yes of course there should be loopholes,” Dladla said ahead of the match.
“Up front they are very skillful but at the back they have challenges, and I won’t dwell on that, but I can tell you we will expose their weaknesses there at the back.
“Pirates have done so well in the country, the history is there for everyone to see, so on the field of play if you’re not going to match them in terms of desire, effort and commitment you can’t compete with them.
“And right now, we’ve reached that point of preparing ourselves for that to be ready technically.”
“Yes, there are two things here. In our preparations for the season we invited teams playing in the DStv Premiership for friendlies because we had so many new players,” he continued.
“We wanted to make sure and prepare them that they can compete with anyone in the PSL. We managed to prepare them mentally.
“So, against Orlando Pirates if we go unprepared to deal with that pressure, it will destroy the belief we had in ourselves, the mentality to put team first rather than individuals. What we’ve built shouldn’t be destroyed by 90 to 120 minutes, we want to maintain that.
“I can tell you the players are looking forward to the game, they are eager to face Pirates. They all want to use this game to sell themselves and U can tell you that we will monitor that situation and try to control it so it that it can’t affect us in the game.
“It should not be something that motivates them ahead of this game, we must all be on the same page. Yes, we want to see individual brilliance, but that must be for the benefit of the team.” He concluded.
