Pitso Mosimane & Al Ahly Step Closer To Continental Success! The African Club Of The Century defeated Wydad on their home ground on Saturday evening. The 2-0 semi-final win leaves Al Ahly on the brink of reaching the CAF Champions League final.
The last time Al Ahly tasted African glory was in 2013. They beat Orlando Pirates 3-1 on aggregate to claim their 8th Champions League title.
Pitso Mosimane guided Al Ahly to a 2-0 away win away to Wydad. Mosimane also avenged a personal vendetta against Wydad.
Mosimane has suffered a few tight defeats against Wydad in the past while still managing Mamelodi Sundowns. He was able to garner the acclaim of the club and its supporters in Morocco.
The second leg of the semi-final is set to take place in Alexandria on Friday evening. Al Ahly are huge favourites to see out their 2-0 advantage at home.
Mosimane is set to reach his second CAF Champions League final in 4 years. Should they progress, they will face either Zamalek or Raja Casablanca.
