Thembinkosi Lorch has been linked with a transfer to Al Ahly, among many. Club head coach Pitso Mosimane addressed these rumours this afternoon.
Jingles said that should the club have an interest in the Orlando Pirates star man, they will go about it the right way. He says that he will contact the Man of Honour, Dr Irvin Khoza.
“There are rumours going around that Al Ahly wants T [Thembinkosi] Lorch . If that has to happen, firstly I will humbly call the Chairman and ask for his blessings,” Mosimane tweeted today.
It would be a surprise transfer should it actually happen. Lorch has not been at his best since winning the PSL Player of The Season in 2018/2019.
In fact, Nyoso has struggled to replicate that sort of form. There have been other stand out players in the DSTV Premiership over the past two years, such as Peter Shalulile, Themba Zwane and Gabadinho Mhango to name a few.
Lorch only scored one goal and provided 4 assists for Orlando Pirates in the DSTV Premiership over the past season. These numbers do not align with the elite quality Al Ahly forwards produce.
The Egyptians will however remember Lorch from the 2019 AFCON in Egypt. He came off the bench to score the only goal as Bafana Bafana eliminated Egypt in the last 16 in their own home.
Since then, Lorch has gained a celebrity status which has possibly distracted him from the game.
It is only this weekend that he made trending news once again as he confirmed his new romantic relationship with actress Natasha Thahane.
