Benni McCarthy Delighted To Go Up To 3rd Position! AmaZulu defeated Black Leopards on Sunday to go up to 3rd position on the DSTV Premiership table.

This means that the team are in pole position to finish in the mandated top 4 spot by President Sandile Zungu. Benni McCarthy was very happy with the result and the performance as well.

“I am pleased with the performance and the three points especially after the international break.”

“I think we didn’t create enough chances to win convincingly, but we definitely created the majority of the chances, that when the 90 minutes ended then we could come away with 3 points,” he told the media.

The only goal of the game came from midfielder Sithebe. This was after lovely interplay from the front three (Augustine Mulenga, Luvuyo Memela and Lehlohonolo Majoro).

“We scored a lovely goal, from a nice interlinking play with Majoro, Memela, Mulenga and Sithebe to go 1-0 up.

“And then it was just about just putting the opposition under pressure, and taking the moments and playing with the counter attack because they are going to get their opportunity to come at you.

“They put in numbers in the front and out us players up high but we dealt them fantastically,” McCarthy concluded.

Usuthu takes on Stellenbosch FC in the DSTV Premiership on Friday evening. The game will take place at the Danie Craven Stadium.
