Premier League Champion Alan Shearer is selecting his team of the season so far.
The competition’s all-time top goalscorer will go through position by position, starting with the goalkeeper.

“It was tough to leave out Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson,” says Shearer. “But Sheffield United’s season has been one of the best stories of the campaign and Henderson has been key to their success.
“The Manchester United loanee has kept 10 clean sheets and his bravery and confidence belie his 23 years. He is a star in the making.”

Among goalkeepers aged 23 or under this season, Henderson has the joint-highest number of clean sheets across Europe’s top five leagues.
Only Nick Pope, with 11, has more clean sheets in the 2019/20 Premier League, with Henderson on the same number as Alisson and Kasper Schmeichel.
Henderson ranks third in the Premier League for Opta’s Goals Prevented metric. It looks at the quality of on-target shots a goalkeeper has faced and shows that Henderson has conceded eight goals fewer than expected.
