Sifiso Ngobeni played a bigger role for Mamelodi Sundowns in the most previous season. He claims that it was about growth for him.
Ngobeni joined Mamelodi Sundowns from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021, after he enjoyed a very good season. He even made the Bafana Bafana squad which won the COSAFA Cup that year.
However, due to strong competition at The Brazilians, he couldn’t win game time and was loaned out to SuperSport United in the middle of last season. He impressed at Matsatsantsa as he was recalled from loan at the beginning of this season.
The left back played a more prominent role for Masandawana this season as they won yet another DSTV Premiership title. He had competition from Aubrey Modiba and Terrence Mashego in his position this season.
“My season was all about growth,” Ngobeni told the club media.
“I was on loan to SuperSport United and then I was called back to the team. For me it was all about growth and learning and getting game time.
“It was hard from day one because after signing for Mamelodi Sundowns you know that you have to bring the big trophy home [CAF Champions League]. It has been 8 years since we won the trophy but this season we were almost there, but it was very hard.
“We have to continue doing what we are doing. First of all, the love we have for one another.
“The brotherhood we have for one another and also the Coach keeps telling us that we need to be good human beings. It feels good to be a champion.
“It’s a feeling that I didn’t expect and it’s something that I don’t even have words to describe, but it’s a good feeling.” He spoke.
He will be hoping to play in more match’s next season. Previous Season Was About Growth for Sifiso Ngobeni!
