Promise Mkhuma Is Daveyton’s Latest Shining Star In The PSL. The youngster joined the Mamelodi Sundowns first team in January 2020. He has already won the ABSA Premiership and Nedbank Cup. The Daveyton native is currently on the right path to success. Playing for the ideal football club and ideal coach in Pitso Mosimane.
Promise Mkhuma is Daveyton’s latest shining star in the PSL. He is only 20 years old and he’s already tasted success at the highest level in this country. Promise made 5 appearances since joining Masandawana. This was enough to see him earn a PSL winners medal in early September.
The ABSA Premiership title was soon followed by the Nedbank Cup triumph. Promise Mkhuma was the captain of the Mamelodi Sundowns Multichoice Diski Challenge side. He finished 2019 as Sundowns’ top scorer with 10 goals from the winger.
Mkhuma was ecstatic with how his first season in the top-flight went. That’s understandable; the 20 year old won two major trophies in one week!
“I am excited about winning the league in my first season since joining in December. It is great and I know I am going to win more trophies with the club, this is the first of many to come,” the young man said.
“The work that the coaches put on me is paying off and all the other players in the development should work hard and make sure that they improve.

“I am evidence that hard work pays. I am always around senior players like Hlompho Kekana and Tiyani Mabunda as they advise me on stuff on and off the field.
“They are always telling me how to calm myself before the game and I must not be scared to make mistakes. Most of the time we talk about football but they also share their life experiences with me.”
The 20 year old is now being mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Percy Tau and Keagan Dolly. Those murmurs are not far-fetched as Mkhuma possesses the ilk and nous that these 2 have. His first full season in the PSL will be crucial in his development.
