AmaZulu FC are in 11th place on the DSTV Premiership table. Veteran defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele believes that the players are responsible for their disappointing season.

Interim head coach Ayanda Dlamini is the third man in charge at Usuthu this season. Brandon Truter was the head coach at the beginning of the season, after he had replaced Benni McCarthy.

Truter was fired in October by Sandile Zungu, despite being in the MTN 8 final and in the top 8 of the DSTV Premiership. He was replaced by Romain Folz, which raised a lot of eyebrows.

Folz facilitated Usuthu falling out of the top 8 and being eliminated by Dondol Stars in the Nedbank Cup. He has since been suspended and replaced by former striker Ayanda Dlamini.

“We are all responsible for this,” Mphahlele spoke, as per iDiski Times.

“It is not only coach Ayanda and the other coaches who have departed like Brandon Truter and Romain Folz. We are all responsible.

“We all should get the team in the better place on the log.

“We have let the team down at some stage. We are not happy, and it is not a secret.

“But we want to do better, we want to get the points.”
