Rise And Shine Through To The Last 16 Of Nedbank Cup
It was a game packed with much excitement and great football. However, it was Polokwane City that proved to be the better side against African All Stars at the Old Peter Mokaba stadium. The two teams locked horns for a place in the Nedbank Cup last 16. Polokwane City as the much experienced showed that not only are they playing in the PSL but they are disciplined and will punish you.
Goals from Puleng Tlolane, Saulani Phiri and Walter Musona saw Rise and Shine join Mamelodi Sundowns in the last 16 round of the competition. All Stars gave a great account of themselves in the first half, though predictably it was the PSL side who looked the more polished and potent outfit. All Stars had got a late penalty to console themselves and it was too late to bounce back.
Competitions like Nedbank Cup are unpredictable and anything to go either way. One should however give credit to the teams not in the PSL as they play with a great deal of professionalism and confidence. They do not respect the opponent as their role models but they test their role models pound for pound and thus teams like Sundowns only won 2-0 in their first game and not 24-0 as they once did in the competition. They is evidence there is discipline from amateur sides.
