Rising Star Promise Mkhuma Turns 20 today. The newly promoted youngster gifted himself the ultimate early birthday surprise, when he signed his first senior professional contract on the last day of the transfer window after captaining the club’s MDC side this season.
“Promise has done very well. He has proved that he deserves my attention. He has really shown that I must look at him. The free-kicks have been good and he has been supplying the balls. Let’s see first what Promise can do.” Mosimane said.
The level headed 20 year old has promised to stay grounded, and continue the hard work that propelled him into the Downs’ First Team.
“I have to sit down with the likes of Keletso, Mkhulise and Madisha and get their advice as to how they absorbed pressure when they were promoted to the first team.”
“I don’t know what kind of challenges I’m going to face. It shows that they worked hard if you look at where they are and I can also do the same. Their guidance is going to be key for me,” concluded Mkhuma.
The buzz around Chloorkop is real and the high flying midfield maestro will now go through the same development processes his predecessors, the likes of Keagan & Percy, went through before applying their trade in Europe and other leagues.
The sky is the limit for Promise, that’s for sure.
