Robert Lewandowski Thrilled to Win Second Consecutive FIFA Best Player in The World! The Polish striker was awarded in Zurich, last night.
Robert Lewandowski was crowned as the FIFA Men’s Best Player in the World last night. He is proud to have retained a title which he won for the first-time last year.
Lewandowski enjoyed another successful campaign last year. He was unable to inspire Bayern Munich to a consecutive UEFA Champions League crown, but he helped his team retain the Bundesliga and domestic cup.
Lewa also scored a ton of goals and provided many assists for both Poland and Bayern Munich. He ousted Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah to reign supreme.
“That’s difficult to answer.” Lewandowski told FIFA after he was asked which win was nicer between 2020 and 2021.
“Both occasions were unbelievably good. The first time will always be the first time, but to win it for a second consecutive year means a lot to me.
“I think my performances in the last couple of years have developed in the right direction. I’m always delighted to win individual accolades because they’re also awards for my team.
“Anything I win, the team also wins, and that makes me very proud. So, I’d like to thank all my team-mates because they make the difference.
“I’d also like to thank everybody who voted for me and the fans around the world. Everything we do is for the fans and so I also dedicate this prize to them.” He spoke.
The striker was overlooked as the best player by French magazine Ballon d’Or, in favour of Lionel Messi. Many people questioned the choice to not rule for Lewandowski.
This success is seen as warranted in the eyes of many. Robert Lewandowski Thrilled to Win Second Consecutive FIFA Best Player in The World!
