Rodrygo Goes has claimed the NxGn Best Young Player in the World award. This accolade is awarded by Goal.com on the basis of the votes cast by the journalists from its 43 global editions. The Brazilian is enjoying an excellent first season at Real Madrid, scoring seven goals and providing an assist in his 18 appearances. In addition, he made his debut for the senior Brazilian national team in November.
Rodrygo was been chosen ahead of other young footballing talents such as Ansu Fati and Mason Greenwood, who finished second and third respectively. Fellow madridista Reinier was fourth, while Kubo, who is on loan at Mallorca, finished ninth.

After collecting the award, the attacker expressed his delight: “You always work for and dream of winning such major prizes, and after you win them, it takes some time for it to settle in. It’s an honour to receive this award. I think it’ll really motivate me and it gives me great confidence”.
