Roger De Sa does a 10km mountain hike in Cape Town
The former Orlando Pirates mentor and Egypt assistant coach, Roger De Sa is known for his successful career in coaching both in PSL and outside the country. It seems like De Sa likes to spend more of his time in the mountain.
Take a look where he recently tweeted pictures of him after finishing a 10 km mountain hike in Cape Town. “Awesome 10km hike up to devils peak,” @RogerDe_Sa tweeted.

De Sa and Carlos Queiroz history
De Sa was appointed as an assistant coach by Carlos Queiroz last year as they were preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations. Back in 2002 and 2003, the Portuguese coach was appointed as Bafana Bafana’s mentor and he then brought Roger De Sa to his technical team as a goalkeeping coach.
De Sa then grew even more in the world of coaching as he became a Bidvest Wits and Santos coach before he joined Queiroz as an assistant coach of Portugal in 2010. Being appointed as Egypt’s assistant coach in 2021 showed that Queiroz really admires De Sa.
“I’m very fortunate that I’ve got a decent business and a very good marriage and family life that enabled me to continue my happy life here,” said de Sa as quoted by iDiskiTimes.
“But with an opportunity like this, the temptation was always going to be there, and I had made a choice. Yeah, it doesn’t get bigger. And let’s have a go,” he concluded.

Other teams he coached
In 2013, De Sa was given the huge task of mentoring Orlando Pirates. He then went on to coach Ajax Cape Town, Platinum Stars, Cape Umoya and Cape Town All-Stars. De Sa seems to be still in the break after he reportedly resigned from his job in Egypt.
De Sa and Egypt lost the Africa Cup of Nations final match against Senegal back in January in Cameroon. The very team that beat them in the final, knocked them out in the World Cup qualifiers.
