Roger De Sa Unlucky At Maritzburg United
Roger De Sa has been unlucky this season in the PSL. He went from Ajax Cape Town to Maritzburg United and now the coach is without a team after the team of choice terminated his contract with him. De Sas only spent 72 days at Maritzburg United, the least number of days he has spent with any team he has coached in the PSL.
The Team of Choice have lost five of their seven games in all competitions since De Sa’s arrival back in January, with the former Orlando Pirates mentor picking up just one victory during his time in Pietermaritzburg. It remains to be seen how long Maritzburg will take to find the Mozambican’s replacement as they look to reignite their hopes of securing a top eight finish this season, however Fadlu Davids is expected to stand in as interim head coach in the meantime as he had done before De Sa.
Maritzburg are far away from the relegation zone after the went to play offs last season. They are currently 10 on the PSL table with 23 points after 21 games. However, they must win their next fixtures to make sure that they are safe in the PSL. Winning their next games means they will move up the PSL table and they might qualify for the MTN 8 next season.
