Ronaldo expects to eclipse Messi in the race for the Ballon d’Or.

After helping his team win the Champions League for the a record 12th time, Cristiano Ronaldo is sure to think that he deserves the nod for the coverted award. He scored two goals in the Final, overtaking Messi and eventually finishing as overall top goal scorer.

During the Champions League celebrations Ronaldo was heard to be chanting the Ballon d’Or song, as a clear indication that he thinks he deserves the award, over his Barcelona rival.

Ronaldo has to his name, four Champions League wins, one he won with Manchester United and the other three with Real Madrid. He also has won the Ballon d’Or four times and is one short of Messi who has won it five times.

This would surely be his most celebrated Ballon d’Or win, if he clinches it because it will equal that of Messi.
