Ronwen Williams is one of two over aged players who will represent South Africa at the Olympics. He is looking forward to helping the u/23’s who qualified without any over aged players.
South Africa is in a really tough group, which has hosts Japan alongside France and Mexico. The latter two also being in the same 2010 FIFA World Cup group as South Africa.
“It’s an honour to be part of the Olympic group, this is one of the biggest stages in football and I’m looking forward to it.” Williams tells the SuperSport United media department.
“They have done so well for themselves, I’m proud of them, they have been outstanding for a few years now and hopefully they can have a very good tournament.
“We all became a big family and to lose any player is not a good feeling but that’s how football goes, I would like to thank them for all their hard work and passion and wish them all the best going forward.” He said.
