Ronwen Williams Says That The Break Has Come At The Perfect Time! SuperSport United enjoyed a week away from official matches.
Their last game was a 0-0 draw at home to in-form TS Galaxy. The form of Matsatsantsa has not been great at all.
They have moved from the closest challengers to Mamelodi Sundowns on 2nd spot to a distant 4th position. SuperSport has been usurped by both Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows in recent weeks.
They are now just trying to keep up with the pacesetters at the top of the table.
“It was really wonderful getting some rest after our last match against TS Galaxy, just to clear the mind for the last 10 games.” Williams told the club website.
“It’s been a tough two months for us, we have played many games and we have started fairly well but started to lose some legs and energy.
“The break has come at the perfect time for us, it will do our whole team good, and we can nurse and sort out some fatigue, niggling injuries, and obviously get some players up to speed as well.
“We need to fight for every possible point and double our efforts to stay in the top half of the DStv Premiership log table.
“We let ourselves down by dropping a lot of points lately but we need to focus on our objectives and start winning games.
“This stage of the season is very tough as every point is vital for every team in the league so we need to double our efforts and focus even more.” He adds.
Williams, alongside Bradley Grobler and Sipho Mbule, have been called up to the national team for the upcoming AFCON Qualifiers.
Grobler and Williams will be joining the Bafana Bafana camp for the umpteenth time. Mbule, however, has been called up for the very first time in his career.
“We are all happy for Sipho Mbule’s senior national team call up, he has been outstanding for us, he needs to stay focused, hungry and humble and we are all proud and happy to be part of our national team.” Williams said.
