Rooney set for Everton return.
Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney will depart the Europa League Champions for a return to childhood club Everton.
According to The Sun, Rooney has been left out of the United squad that will tour the US in order to complete his move to the Merseyside Blues.
The 31-year-old will depart on a free transfer that will see him earn £250,000-a-week.
United are desperate to get the striker off their wage bill as he is the highest earner at the club despite having two-years left on his contract.
Rooney quit Goodison Park 13-years ago in a £26.5m move to the Red Devils and recently became the club’s all-time leading scorer with 253-goals.
